Michael is an Associate Counsel.
He was born and raised in British Columbia and obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History in 1983 and his Bachelor of Laws in 1987 from the University of British Columbia. He was called to the bar of British Columbia in May of 1988.
He articled and practiced with Braidwood Mackenzie Brewer Greyell from 1987 until 1991 and thereafter with Mackenzie Fujisawa Brewer Stevenson until April 2001. From April 2001 to December 2010 he practised at a boutique litigation law firm in downtown Vancouver. He has practiced exclusively in civil litigation since his call to the bar with extensive experience in complex civil litigation at the trial and appellate levels as well as in mediation and arbitration.
In his general litigation practice he advises and represents strata property managers, Strata Corporations and strata owners in a wide variety of disputes under the Strata Property Act and under the home warranty and REDMA provisions. Among other areas of law, his practice has an emphasis in construction/corporate/commercial disputes, expropriation, family law cases, professional negligence, employment, and personal injury.
In addition to his practice, Michael dedicates his time to community and recreational volunteer work in the Sea to Sky corridor.
